| Plant Morphology Observations: | fls. lavender-rose. Rhexia cubensis intermingled. In this region, populations of R. mariana take in the petal color (lavender-rose) of R. cubensis, have more maroon pigmentation (as dies R. cubensis) and hace narrower leaves which are often broadest above the mid point (as in R. cubensis). Yet the flowers are uniformly smaller, and the seed are not "cubensis" like, while the hypenthia are consistenly smaller. |
