Plant Morphology Observations: Medium size deciduous tree with large leaves arranged in a psuedo whorl at the terminus of the stems. Leaves 25.4-45.7 cm long, tapered at both ends, broadly elliptic, entire, dark green above, paler green below. Stems tan, smooth, leaf scars evident. Multiple stems arising from a "ligno tuber" type of root. Larger stems reclining and new shoots produced at the base; these growing upward. Older specimens with immature fruit, which was smooth, green and produced at the terminus of the stems.
Local Abundance Observations: Fifteen healthy individuals were found in this ravine and the adjacent ravine to the east.
