| Habitat: | old borrow-pit; ground becoming desiccated owing to drought; some close associates were Sclerolepis uniflora (still sterile), Amsonia rigida, Hibiscus moscheutos (sterile), and Dichanthelium acuminatum var. wrightianum. |
| Plant Morphology Observations: | laxly-ascending, mat-forming plants; Corolla lobes white; tube a suppresed yellow with fine purplish lines (these more distinct on dorsal surface). Hairs within tube mostly dorsally situated. Anthers two-toned, whitish and dull buffy-brown; pollen not seen; filaments (including sterile pair) pale yellow. Stigma and style an off-white; ovary pale green. Sepals and lvs.a light, rather flat green. Stems pale green above, where they were slightly viscid, shading to a more grayish or dull purple hue below. |
