| Verbatim Directions to Locality: | Pond cypress pond, with scattered trees throughout, none of them particularly tall, but most of them with spectacular buttswells, the latter to ca 3 m above ground level. Pond presently dry save for a few small pools of stagnant water, the soil sandy in the higher spots, mucky-peaty in the lower ones. Much of the pond surface bare because of vehicular trafic, but considerable areas around the trees free of such traffic and with low herbaceous vegetation. W of Crawfordville on road taking of perpinduclar to U.S. Rt 319, thence 3.7 miles, pond on left. This is beyond Lawhon's Mill (Pelt cemetery on left) 1.4 miles. (I have visited this pond sporadically over perhaps 15 years, this being the first time I happened there when the water level was such as to expose more than a very little of the periphery of the pond.)
