| Plant Morphology Observations: | Flowers are pale bluish-violet and small, though uniform in size and color; Lateral petals with clavate hairs; spurred petal glabrous. Sepals of cleistogamous flowers with irregular purplish spots but capsules are yellowish to tawny (see Small for V. langloisii). |
| Local Abundance Observations: | frequent in rich, moist woods which have abundant limestone outcrops; mostly on rich loamy soil, occasionally mucky. |
| Notes: | S. W. Leonard - This sp. also seen elsewhere in the region: Citrus and Hernando Counties -- always in or near swampy woods with limerock.
