| Verbatim Directions to Locality: | Tree with relatively small, short trunk, about 2.5 dm dbh, and a moderate sized crown. On a sand ridge with scattered longleaf pine and abundant scrub oaks, the sand ridge between two karst lakes, Lost Lake and Little Lost Lake, Apalachicola National Forest, off Springhill Road, S of Tallahassee. Besides the pine most of the scrub oaks are Quercus Laevis, few Q. incana, and numerous Q. geminata. Other associates: Aristida stricta, Aristida sp., Smilax auriculata, Panicum virgatum, Pteridium aquilianum var. pseudocaudatum, Sporobolus junceus, Liatris chapmanii, Licania michauxii, Vaccinium myrsinites, few Warea sessilifolia. |
