Habitat: colony of 2-3 dozen plants scattered through secondary woods; associates: Vaccinium stamineum, V. arboreum, Vitis rodundifolia, Quercus stellata, Albizzia julibrissin, Callicarpa americana, Diospyrus virgiana, Rhus copallinum.
Plant Morphology Observations: Naturalized plants shrub or treelike, often with a terminal leader and single stemmed.
Local Abundance Observations: colony of 2-3 dozen plants scattered through secondary woods.
Notes: Originally discovered by David MacManus. Several large cultivated plants in the parking lot probably the parents of the naturalized plants.
