Habitat: On a slight, small ridge surrounded by wet flatwoods, actually a slash pine plantation, pines ca 4 dm tall, much hardwood brush intermixed.
Plant Morphology Observations: A single plant seen. Leaves limber, somewhat blueish green, the young ones glaucous beneath. Inflorescence (stalk plus panicle) 2 m tall, the panicle 5 dm long. Stalk and panicle axes green.

Identification History: 82773 Yucca flaccida Haworth [Inflorescence pubescent tepals 4-4.5 mm] separate contemporaneous note as follows: FNA authors list Yucca filamentosa and Y. flaccida separately but say they "are very closely related and perhaps are not distinct species." However, they cite a DNA study in which a consensus tree shows the two species are quite distant (see FNA 26:433-434, 2002).
