Verbatim Directions to Locality: Open, sandy, broad highway right-of-way by U.S. Rt. 98 about 3/4 mile n.e. of Wakulla County High School.
Habitat: Open, sandy, broad highway right-of-way.
Plant Morphology Observations: Young leaves gray-glaucous, limber. Stalk of inflorescence (to lowest panicle branch) 1 m long, panicle 7 dm long. Style white.

Identification History: 81891 Yucca flaccida Haworth [Inflorescence pubescent tepals 4-4.5 mm] separate note as follows: FNA authors list Yucca filamentosa and Y. flaccida separately but say they "are very closely related and perhaps are not distinct species." However, they cite a DNA study in which a consensus tree shows the two species are quite distant (see FNA 26:433-434, 2002).
