Identification History: 25509 Yucca flaccida Haworth [Inflorescence pubescent] separate note as follows: FNA authors list Yucca filamentosa and Y. flaccida separately but say they "are very closely related and perhaps are not distinct species." However, they cite a DNA study in which a consensus tree shows the two species are quite distant (see FNA 26:433-434, 2002).
